Yahoo is deepening its connection with Facebook. The most recent connection between the two companies was announced Tuesday (20) and allow more users to share their activities from the Yahoo sites, including the news they are reading.
Yahoo announced a share option in the main section on your Facebook three months ago.Now, the same tool will be available in 26 other parts of the site, including the service “Omg,” news and entertainment sections on the TV, movies and games.
By pegging their services more to the popularity of Facebook, Yahoo hopes to give people more reasons for people to visit their sites. Yahoo wants to sell more online advertising and Facebook has gained ground in this sector.
While Facebook has become increasingly influential, Yahoo struggles to stay relevant among Internet users and companies that advertise online.
Yahoo has been pleased with the results of integration with Facebook so far. The traffic section that is integrated with the social network has tripled since the sharing function is included, the company says.
